New ySite Launch: YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County
We are excited to announce that the YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County recently launched a new website. This Y has served its community for more than 150 years (and counting). To this day, the Ithaca YMCA continues to practice its mission to foster youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This newly designed website is another tool that will better serve this organization's members and future constituents by offering a great online user experience.

With a new website and content management system (CMS), YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County can easily:

Custom Mobile-Friendly Website Design
- YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County's website has an entirely new design, look, and feel. Their previous site was built with HTML code, making it very cobbled together and difficult to update.
- This new CMS and website software gives the Y the ability to make content updates quickly, add in alerts, enroll members online, and be completely user- and mobile-friendly.
- A slideshow builder on the homepage displays various videos of programs and classes from around the Y.
- There is a grid of quick links as you scroll down the page. When members hover over the box, more information about the program and a call-to-action button appears.
- This site also uses the Alert Bar, allowing the message to display and alert members of schedule changes, facility closures, camp or registration deadlines, or updates to hours. If there are multiple alerts, the Y can display this on a single line, which condenses vertical space, and is collapsable.
Featured Web Pages
- One way to help introduce potential new members to your organization is by offering a virtual tour. The Ithaca Y has a Virtual Tour web page with clickable images and descriptions of the facility and programs.
- The Membership Rates page has a very interactive price calculator where visitors can build their membership level and sign up for the Y without needing a staff member to guide this process. An interested member needs to select members' age(s), and the built-in rate calculator will show the cost by month, three months, or annually.
- Gone are the days of printed job applications. People can easily search and apply for employment at this facility by visiting the Work at the Y web page. Employment opportunities can also be searched by job type, categories, and facility locations. Each job posting has a separate web page with a complete description of requirements and benefits.
- It's essential to show an online map of your YMCA facilities, especially for organizations that have multiple locations. This Y's Find a Location page can filter by location or amenities to help better navigate members.
