New ySite Launch: Rockland County YMCA

We are thrilled to announce that Rockland County YMCA's ySite has a brand-new look and feel. This Y serves more than 6,000 people throughout its region and is a gathering place for people of all ages, races, faiths, abilities, and incomes. With their newly designed website, Rockland County YMCA can better serve its members with a great online user experience.

Content Management Tools & Features:

This next-generation website and content management system (CMS) gives this Y the ability to: 

  • Customize homepage content
  • Build out dynamic web pages 
  • Update Staff and Leadership directories
  • Add and modify multiple location sites
  • Share important messages through a homepage alert bar
  • Upload images, PDFs, and files 
  • And so much more!

We wanted to highlight some key features of this new ySite and showcase these design and navigation options if you're looking for some inspiration to implement onto your organization's website.

Design 

  • Rockland County YMCA's previous website had a boxed layout design. This next-generation site uses white space—a top design trend—and is built with modules and customization features, making it easy for Y to update and manage.
  • The homepage includes a hero image slider with various photos and calls to action. With the slideshow builder, Rockland County YMCA can switch between still images and video for the background at any time.
  • This site also uses the Alert Bar, allowing the message to display and alert members of schedule changes, facility closures, camp or registration deadlines or updates to hours. 

Featured Web Pages

  • Sharing member stories about how your Y makes a positive impact in their lives is an excellent way for potential constituents to learn more about the culture of your organization. Rockland County YMCA uses the yStory Module on their Share Your YStory page to capture and display member testimonials. Using this Module is a great way to capture more member stories and share what people love about your Y. 
  • For those interested in working at Rockland County Y, there is an Employment Application on the site that interested personnel can fill and submit. Once completed, this form submits to the Y, and a staff member is notified.
  • It's essential to have a Find A Location page on your Y site to list all the region's affiliate sites. This Y has a filter by location and amenities feature that members can search by and find hours, addresses, phone numbers, and more information.
